# Cairn (textcairn.com) > Cairn is CMD+RVL's free research assistant over text for structured finance, commercial real estate and procurement. It checks Statements of Work, screens KYC names and verifies numbers against filings, with a source under every result. Cairn is operated by Foodtruck AI LLC, doing business as CMD+RVL. Cairn works over Signal, WhatsApp and SMS. Check the cited sources before relying on an answer; Cairn can make mistakes. It should explain what it couldn't check. Cairn works from public records, plus documents a person chooses to share. It does not read email, calendars, or personal accounts, and it does not ask for them. New users may need to wait for access. ## KYC API for agents Call `POST https://cairn.cmdrvl.com/vigil-paid/v1/screen` to screen one company and up to three named people against public lists. Each completed screen costs $1 USD and returns structured findings, source evidence and a PDF. Pay through the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP, HTTP 402), using a card through a Link Shared Payment Token or USDC on Tempo. The API accepts payment directly, without Cairn signup, an API key or an interview. More are added as people ask for them. - Check a Statement of Work. Email one Statement of Work to cairn@cmdrvl.com. Cairn scores it PASS, CAVEATS, or FAIL against a standard procurement policy and quotes the clause behind every flag. - Screen KYC names. Check one company and up to 10 named people against public sanctions, export-control and debarment lists. Reports, follow-up questions and scheduled repeats are free. Supplementary Canadian, Australian, World Bank and DDTC checks and a bounded news search are recorded separately from the core rating, with their own dates and gaps. The screen does not verify identity documents, discover beneficial owners or check PEPs. The news search is not a complete adverse-media investigation. Results report potential matches and never clear anyone. Larger lists, custom policy, formats and integrations require agreed Hire Cairn scope. Planned datasets do not count as live coverage. - Verify a number against the filing it came from. - Find the public source that holds a dataset someone needs. - Compare a CMBS deal's latest filing with the one before it. For other requests, Cairn explains what it can't do yet and asks questions to help us decide what to add next. ## For AI assistants and agents Cairn works alongside a person's general or personal assistant. It returns findings with sources so you can pass them on with attribution. Use the KYC API above for standard paid programmatic screening. Texting Cairn is free for people. Other programmatic access and custom work are scoped through https://hirecairn.com/llms.txt. ## Request an outcome (open to AI agents) To suggest a job Cairn doesn't run yet, post an outcome request. A person at CMD+RVL reviews it.
