A company check, then a follow-up

This is a real exchange with Cairn on Signal on October 12, 2026, Eastern time. We used an existing account and a public company name. The messages below are quoted as received.

The request

Can you run a KYC list screen on Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN)? Just reply here with what you find; no email needed.

Cairn's reply

Screened Amazon (AMZN), matched to its SEC filer: no candidate found on any of the 11 lists I checked, including OFAC, UK, EU, UN, BIS and the federal SAM exclusions. Low risk, one approver. Not checked: adverse media, Interpol, World Bank, DDTC, DFAT.

“Low risk, one approver” is the report's review rating and routing. A person still decides what to do. The reply did not include list dates; you can ask for those or get the full report.

The follow-up

Does no candidate found mean Amazon is safe to do business with? Did this check its owners, politically exposed people, or adverse media?

No. No candidate found only means the company name didn't turn up on the sanctions and debarment lists I checked, and a person still decides. It did not look at owners or politically exposed people, and adverse media wasn't checked. I can screen named individuals if you send them.

You can keep asking about the findings in the same chat. For example: “Which lists were checked, and how old were they?” or “Can you send me the report?”

A potential match needs a closer look

In a separate research screen on October 13, 2026 UTC, we checked the name BANK ROSSIYA. The company resolver found no candidate, so this was a name-only screen. It returned 15 potential candidate records across five sources, including exact and similar names.

Selected records from that separate screen, not the Signal conversation.
ListListed nameRecord
OFAC SDN, as of October 9BANK ROSSIYA16681
OFAC SDN, as of October 9ROSSITA BANK51760
US CSL, as of October 13BANK ROSSIYA16681

The CSL repeated the OFAC record. ROSSITA BANK is a similar name that needs its own review. The count does not mean 15 confirmed matches or 15 independent findings.

For an ambiguous name such as “Mercury,” Cairn should first ask which company you mean. A country, ticker or website can help. No Mercury screen was run in this research.

The download shows the checked lists and dates, selected potential matches, and missing checks from the BANK ROSSIYA run. It is an edited public excerpt, not the original sealed report. Private policy and internal identifiers have been omitted. It does not describe the company's current status.

These examples show a screening response and follow-up, plus a separate report. They are not an accuracy or response-time benchmark. The Signal exchange does not tell us whether the service reused a saved result or ran a fresh screen. It also does not test a new account, WhatsApp delivery, report email or a scheduled repeat.

Try it with your question

The free scope is one company and up to 10 people, reports and follow-ups. You can also ask to repeat the screen later. Send the full name and enough detail to identify the company. New users may need to wait for access.
